Official debut of the ADAM hatchback from Opel
Only recently, the head of the company Opel promised to reduce the prices of cars, and yesterday the debut of the compact Opel Adam took place. This car is one of the most promising new products, because this is a completely new offer from the brand in the segment of city cars. It is possible that in the near future, Opel models will be able to achieve a new level of popularity among the progressive and young population.
The model is truly “fresh”. On the one hand, the ADAM hatchback retained the company style and recognition of Opel, and on the other hand, this compact became noticeable in terms of designing a step forward for the brand. Artists devoted a large amount of time and attention to the appearance of the car. The company considers a rather intricate roof to be a separate pride of the Adam hatchback – it is painted in a color different from the car body and looks like a removable, separate element. In addition, you should pay attention to the well-designed hood profile and a very original solution in the field of door handles. In general, the Opel Adam compact, although it has a rather modest size, is not at all devoid of charisma.
The Adam hatchback, as previously reported, will not be the most compact offering in its segment – its dimensions are 172 cm wide and 370 cm long with a wheelbase of 231.1 cm. And the Fiat 500, for example, has a 230 cm wheelbase with a length of 354.6 cm. The Adam model is based on an improved platform from Corsa. It is also the basis for the Fiat 500.
Adam hatchback from the very beginning of sales will be offered with three engines of the ecoFLEX family, which include gasoline 4-cylinder engines: two 1.4-liter units (power 99 l.With. and 86 l.With.) and a 1.2-liter engine (capacity 69 liters.With.). All motors operate in conjunction with a 5-speed manual transmission. Also available with start/stop system.
This car will be produced in three versions: SLAM (sports version), JAM (stylish and fashionable performance) and GLAM (luxury version). Moreover, Opel promises that the Adam compact will become the most creative model in terms of configuration: it will be possible to change almost any element, while forming a completely unique and individual car.
Opel Adam will be publicly presented at the Paris Motor Show in September this year. The start of sales of this novelty in Europe is scheduled for the end of 2012/beginning of 2013. Until now, the cost of the car remains unknown.
